How to Check Facebook Page Admin Access and Remove People

Setting up monetization for your Facebook Page is an exciting milestone for any content creator or business. However, before you start earning money through features like Facebook Stars, you must ensure that your Page access roles are secure and that your payout details are connected to the right account.

Having full control over a Page is different from owning the payout account. In this guide, we will walk you through verifying your Facebook account permissions, removing unauthorized or old admins, and setting up your payout details safely.

Step 1: Verify Your Facebook Page & Admin Roles

Before configuring payout settings, confirm whether your personal Facebook profile has Full Access to your business Page.

  1. Open Facebook and log in with your personal account.

  2. Click your profile picture (top right) and select See all profiles.

  3. Switch to your business Page.

  4. Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Page setup → Page access.

  5. Review the list under People with Facebook access:

    • Full Control: You have complete admin authority (can change permissions, monetization, and remove users).

    • Partial Access / Task Access: You can manage content or ads, but do not have administrative control.

Important Note: Being an admin of a Facebook Group does not make you an admin of a linked Facebook Page. Monetization features like Stars are linked specifically to profiles, Pages, or creator accounts.

Step 2: Page Access vs. Payout Ownership

It is critical to understand that Page admins and payout owners are separate entities:

  • Page Admins: Any user given Full access can manage settings and access permissions.

  • Payout Account Holder: Earnings are transferred only to the person or business entity whose legal name, tax ID (e.g., PAN/SSN), and bank account are registered in Meta’s payout settings.

  • Do other admins get paid? No. Having full control does not grant admins an automatic split of monetization funds. However, full-access admins could potentially tamper with payout settings if left unmanaged.

Step 3: How to Remove Extra Admins from Your Page

If former employees, partners, or unrecognized users still hold full or partial access to your Page, remove them before entering tax and bank details.

Step-by-step Guide to Remove Admins:

  1. Switch into your Facebook Page profile.

  2. Navigate to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Page setup → Page access.

  3. Locate the person’s name under People with Facebook access.

  4. Click the three dots (…) next to their name.

  5. Click Remove access, enter your Facebook password to confirm, and save changes.

Tip: Check Meta Business Suite → Settings → People as well, to confirm that no unauthorized access remains through a connected Meta Business Portfolio.

Step 4: Safely Preparing Your Stars Payout Setup

Once your account is confirmed as the sole admin account, you can prepare your financial information.

Information Required for Payout Setup:

  • Legal Name: Must match your government ID exactly.

  • Tax Identification Number: Your personal tax ID (e.g., PAN in India, SSN/EIN in the US, or local equivalent).

  • Bank Account Details: IBAN/SWIFT code or account number matching the legal payout recipient.

  • GSTIN (if applicable): Required if your business is GST-registered.

Pre-Monetization Setup: Meta often allows creators to set up payout preferences in advance. While this prepares your account, earnings will only generate once your Page fully meets Meta’s eligibility thresholds for Facebook Stars.

Will other Page admins automatically receive my Facebook Stars earnings?

No. Monetization payouts are deposited strictly into the bank account linked during the Payout Account setup, regardless of how many admins manage the Page

Is it safe to enter my personal tax ID (PAN/SSN) during payout setup?

Yes, as long as you are on Meta’s official setup page inside Facebook or Meta Business Suite. Meta uses this information to comply with tax collection laws.

Does removing an admin notify them?

No, Facebook does not send a direct notification when an admin’s access is revoked. They will simply lose access to the Page dashboard.
